koko Nothing less than impeccable. Something I can put on that consistently gives me that sensation of frisson. Every song is amazing. Every time they play live, they become tighter & continue to be a force of their own. Folk rock with elements of blues, and oh so much fun. As much as I love this EP and how much it captures what Maitarra is as a band, seeing them live will always bring the greatest sense of immersion & presence into their passionate, lively and heartfelt music. Favorite track: This That and the Other.

Come Over 05:40
Take me to the forest Where you swear you met your maker I will sit under the foliage And ask about your father And the two of us like wild beasts, living for destruction It’s the two of us and a chain link fence, just needing some connection Take me to the window Where you watched it all unfold I won’t ask about the paper planes Filling up the basement Two of us with a beaten lung Love, when there’s nothing left to be counting on See, this is what I’ve been feeling Take their toll on you See I thought I was a fixture But even the light moves in the winter You’re falling out of shape now And you can’t scrape it together Come over x2 Take me to the shoreline After a long and a hard night The palms of my hands damp And salty from the inside and the outside of this body Not sure what you’ve been wanting Can’t let you get a grip on me Did you figure the scene was set And life was just a placement I’ll try not to notice when you move out of focus The two of us on the last resort Of what’s worthy to be hurting for It’s the two of us by the kitchen sink Draining out our instinct

Eat My Words 04:46
You’re gonna make me eat my words Satisfied as you serve them up cold And all the living that I’ve done Is gonna crawl its way back up my throat You’re gonna make me, eat, My words I thought he was a good man And I’ve been fantasizing about being ready I’ve been lonesome now for so long And I needed to lean my weight on somebody You’re gonna make me eat my words X2 He came in like Christmas morning Lord, I was a christian child It’s so easy to let the dawn in It’s the afternoon That’ll run you down On the phone with the operator I said listen man, please don’t connect my call I just like sitting stagnant in the potential You know I’m too young to know what I want You’re gonna make me eat my words All the sun kissed sailors Are drifting from shore to shore I’m sitting sulking in front of last nights dinner Without the heat I don’t want it no more You’re gonna make me eat my words X2

Cell Song 03:16
Who am I? When it comes down to it I stay up late To watch your cells Evaporate Don’t go Close the film that keeps you in I can’t wait To live and be Born again I Think You Should Stay You should stay You should stay You should stay You should stay You should You X2

This days got no legs It’s taking me nowhere I hung up before the call went through I got a distant relative He’s perched upon his castle Never questioning his name Or what he’s got to prove You look like a good time Through a bar window, late at night When you can be painted up and falling off Our slippery sights Well there’s strength And there’s vocabulary So if you take a word, be it cautionary Only thread doesn’t get the sewing done Chorus: There’s this, that and the other And they band together Are you hoping you won’t get caught in the middle You call it like you see it Yeah you got reason Judgments always softer In the foggy morning light I toss another afternoon To the side, its got no use I’m just looking to get something done Cuz if I can cross more off my mental list It’ll blind me, from my lifelessness As if the drain of youth won’t drip until it droughts This paradox Comes at a pilgrims cost A candy kid, searching for a sugar god And I’m getting stuck to the stick before the rot Knowing full well about the sudden drops In temperature And what I’ve got Im convinced I’ve just never Held strong enough
